Recruiting...

I keep hearing that the Armed services are really hurting for recruits; that the unpopularity of the war in Iraq is being demonstrated by the lack of new people being willing to serve...funny thing is, I only read that at Left leaning sites/sources...

Go to the OFFICIAL figures, and it seems that that is just another false meme.

Lets see..Nov recruitment figures are out:

*The Army reached 105 percent of its recruiting goal with 5,856 recruits.
*The Navy reached 102 percent of its goal with 2,742 recruits.
*The Marine Corps reached 105 percent of its goal with 2,127 recruits.
*The Air Force reached 101 percent of its goal with 2,407 recruits.

These are NEW additions to the services, mind you.

More importantly, All of the services have met or exceeded their retention goals as well...in fact, in the Air Force, they have instituted a program giving bonuses to "mid-career" airmen with "superfluous" skills to end their terms early...Yep! sounds like a crisis to me!

1 Thanks Delfts. Democrat rhetoric, talk about desperate, every source says we have met or exceeded our quota's. If we win in Iraq they lose, what a pathetic bunch of anarchists.
