Dilithium Crystals ?

Seems that Gene Roddenberry may have been a forcaster of future science in almost as amazing a way as Jules Verne was over a hundred years ago..

Cold Fusion just may be closer than we believed.

1 Lordy, lordy, that's interesting stuff. It wasn't all that far back when people thought you would disintegrate if you exceeded 60 miles per hour, we've broken the sound barrier, went to the moon and found the Titanic, anything is possible. Just don't let my mother-in-law read this, she's an avid Art Bell fan.

2 According to the article, cold fusion has now been proven to work. The problem (as with so many of these new energy technologies) is getting more energy out of the process than we put in.
