Take it away, Mr. Daniels!:
I've just returned from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba Naval Air Station base
where we did three shows for the troops and toured several locations
around the post visiting with some of the finest military personnel
on planet earth. The kids seemed to really enjoy the shows and
especially liked "This Ain't No Rag, It's A Flag" and "In America".
We had a great time with them.
We saw Camp X-Ray, where the Taliban detainees are being held only
from a distance, but I picked up a lot of what's going on there from
talking with a lot of different people.
The truth of the matter is that this operation is under a microscope.
The Red Cross has an on site presence there and watches everything
that goes on very closely. The media is not telling you the whole
truth about what's going on over there. The truth is that these scum
bags are not only being treated humanely, but they are probably better
off healthwise and medically than they've ever been in their lives.
They are fed well, able to take showers and receive state of the art
medical care. And have their own Moslem chaplain. I saw several of
them in a field hospital ward where they were being treated in a state
of the art medical facility.
Now let's talk about the way they treat our people. First of all, they
have to be watched constantly. These people are committed and wanton
murderers who are willing to die just to kill someone else. One of the
doctors told me that when they had Taliban in the hospital the staff
had to really be careful with needles, pens and anything else which
could possibly be used as a weapon. They also throw their excrement
and urine on the troops who are guarding them. And our guys and gals
have shown great restraint in not retaliating. We are spending over a
million dollars a day maintaining and guarding these nasty killers and
anyone who wants to see them brought to the U.S.A. for trial is either
out of their heads or a lawyer looking for money and notoriety. Or
both.
I wish that the media and the Red Cross and all the rest of the
people who are so worried about these criminals would realize that
this is not a troop of errant Boy Scouts. These are killers of the
worst kind. They don't need protection from us, we need protection
from them. If you don't get anything else out of this soapbox, please
try to realize that when you see news coverage much of the time
you're not getting the whole story, but an account filtered through a
liberal mindset with an agenda.
We have two fights on our hands, the war against terror and the one
against the loudmouthed lawyers and left wing media who would sap the
strength from the American public by making us believe that we're
losing the war or doing something wrong in fighting it. Remember these
are the same people who told us that Saddam Hussein's Republican guard
was going to be an all but invincible enemy and that our smart bombs
and other weapons were not really as good as the military said that
they were.
They also took up for Bill Clinton while he was cavorting around the
Oval office with Monica Lewinsky while the terrorists were gaining
strength and bombing our Embassies and dragging the bodies of dead
American heroes around the dusty streets of Somalia. It's a shame that
we can't have an unbiased media who would just report the truth and
let us make up our own minds.
Here I must commend Fox News for presenting both sides much better
than the other networks. They are leaving the other cable networks in
the dust. People like being told the truth.
Our military not only needs but deserves our support. Let's give it to them.
The next time you read a media account about the bad treatment of the
Taliban in Cuba, remember what I told you. Been there done that.
Footnote: I got an e-mail from a rather irate first cousin of mine the
other day who has a daughter who's a lawyer and she seemed to think
that I was painting all lawyers with the same brush. Please understand
that I'm not doing that at all. That would be like saying that all
musicians were drug addicts. There are a lot of good and honest
attorneys out there. I happen to have one of them. But it seems that
they never get any airtime. It's always the radicals who get their
opinions heard, who fight the idea of the military tribunals and cite
The Constitution and the integrity of America as their source of
justifying their opinions. Well, first of all The Constitution says
"We the people of the United States", it doesn't mention any other
country.
And secondly as far as integrity is concerned, I don't think some of
these folks would know integrity if it bit them in the posterior.
What do you think? God Bless America.
Charlie Daniels
P.S. send this to everyone you can...the truth needs to be told. THE
REASON A DOG HAS SO MANY FRIENDS IS THAT HE WAGS HIS TAIL - NOT HIS
TONGUE

A man who will not defend himself is a parasite who exists at the expense of others who will.
A man who may not defend himself is a slave, doomed to bare existence at the pleasure of his masters.

When you bow down before the monster, you are acknowledging a subservient position to the government, something a truly free citizen should never do.

I wonder if the inspectors conducting the searches for WMD's prior to the invasion were just as lax? Saddam KNEW that he was on a short leash, perhaps he managed to ship the bulk of the weapons out prior to the invasion, and adroitly hid the rest? There WERE those mysterious truck convoys to Syria that were never inspected.
Moonbats will point to the fact that the whistle blower was being termed a "disgruntled employee" by the company overseers, yet they will hale any other "disgruntled employee" as a "brave hero exposing the corrupt system" if it's a matter that they wish to hold up as proof of the eeevil administration or heinious Corporate tyrany.

My response is that only history will show whether it was or not. But the price in lives in a battle for freedom is always too high, according to the Left.
But HERE we have a demonstration that, JUST MAYBE, the results will justify the cost, and those brave men and women will not have died in vain.
If a country such as Afghanistan can break free of the Muslim templet enough to allow for a woman Governor, it might show that President Bush was correct in his assesment of the situation in the M.E., and it is possible that a new wind of freedom will begin to blow across the whole region.
If it does, it will all be due to the bravery and sacrifices made by the soldiers of the coalition, and not by the Moonbats calls for "tolerance and understanding" of Islamofacists. They are the successors of Chamberlein in calling for "peace in our time", and President Bush will have been shown to be the Churchill of our time.

given the assignment to measure the height of a flagpole. So they
went out to the flagpole with ladders and tape measures, and they
fell off the ladders, dropped the tape measures and pencils -- the
whole thing was just a mess.
An engineering student comes along and
sees what they're trying to do. He walks over, pulls the flagpole
out of the ground, lays it flat, measures it from end to end, and
then gives the measurement to one of the blondes and walks away.
After the engineer had gone, one blonde turned to another and
laughed:
"Isn't that just like a dumb engineer? We're looking for the
height and he gives us the length!"

Here's his philosophy in a nutshell:
"No matter where I am, I do news, talk, sports, rock, silly, serious - I do every type of media on the planet - and I've always stood up for the same things," he says, "because the Ten Commandments worked then, and they work now. The Golden Rule worked then, and it works perfectly now. The Declaration of Independence, the Emancipation Proclamation, the Bill of Rights, the U.S. Constitution. These really are pillars of truth and goodwill and sense and decency and reason that I was raised on and disciplined to - there's the key word, I was disciplined to respect and adhere to back when I was growing up, since birth back in 1948."And what worked then will work anywhere, anytime forever."

Were this an isolated case, I would be of a mind to just say, "there were some bad apples, prosecute them and move on".
But to date, I can't seem to find a single example where the UN forces were successful in doing what they were sent to do in any situation, namely keep the peace and/or provide succor to people suffering from disaster whether man-made or natural. And it seems that in almost every case, there have been furthur crimes committed against the people that those forces were sent to help, by the forces themselves.
And the most that Kofi Annon can say is (he is)"afraid there is clear evidence that acts of gross misconduct have taken place."?!?
No word on what steps would be taken to prevent furtur abuses, or prosecution of the offenders....
What else can you expect from an organization that names the worst offenders of human rights to sit on the watchdog committee on human rights? An organization that dealt with under the table oil deals with a dictator in a program that was supposedly to ease the suffering of the people under his rule?
It's time for the US to seriously consider leaving the UN. Let them move the headquarters to Brussels, where perfiditity and double-dealing graft are appreciated as an art form in international politics.
No, I'm not so naive as to believe that our own state department doesn't enage in expiedient measures in dealing with foreign powers, but at least they try to keep a semblence of forthrightness, and when caught in an obvious crime, are disgraced and prosecuted.
UPDATE: UN official "hopes to God that the UN is never called on again to administer such a massive program as the Oil for Food again. EVEN the UN leadership is starting to acknowledge it's incompetentcy!

I sat in my seat of the Boeing 767 waiting foreveryone to hurry and stow their carry-ons and grab a seat so we could start what I was sure to be a
long , uneventful flight home. With the huge capacity and slow moving people taking their time to stuff luggage far too big for the overhead and never paying much attention to holding up the growing line behind them, I simply shook my head knowing that this flight was not starting out very well.
I was anxious to get home to see my loved ones so I was focused on
"my" issues and just felt like standing up and yelling for some of these clowns to
get their act together. I knew I couldn't say a word so I just thumbed thru the "Sky Mall" magazine from the seat pocket in front of me. You know it's really
getting rough when you resort to the over priced, useless sky mall crap to break the monotony.
With everyone finally seated, we just sat there with the cabin door open and no one in any hurry to get us going although we were well past the scheduled take off time. No wonder the airline industry is in trouble I told myself. Just then, the
attendant came on the intercom to inform us all that we were being delayed.
The entire plane let out a collective groan. She resumed speaking to say
"We are holding the aircraft for some very special people who are on
their way to the plane and the delay shouldn't be more than 5 minutes."
The word came after waiting six times as long as we were promised that "I" was finally going to be on my way home. Why the hoopla over "these" folks?
I was expecting some celebrity or sport figure to be the reason for the
hold up.........Just get their butts in a seat and lets hit the gas I thought.
The attendant came back on the speaker to announce in a loud and
excited voice that we were being joined by several U. S. Marines returning
home from Iraq!!! Just as they walked on board, the entire plane erupted
into applause. The men were a bit taken by surprise by the 340 people
cheering for them as they searched for their seats. They were
having their hands shook and touched by almost everyone who was within an arm's distance of them as they passed down the aisle.
One elderly woman kissed the hand of one of the Marines as he passed
by her. The applause, whistles and cheering didn't stop for a long time.
When we were finally airborne, "I" was not the only civilian checking his conscience as to the delays in "me" getting home, finding my easy chair, a cold
beverage and the remote in my hand. These men had done for all of us
and I had been complaining silently about "me" and "my" issues. I took for
granted the everyday freedoms I enjoy and the conveniences of the American way of life.
I took for granted others paid the price for my ability to moan and complain about a few minutes delay to "me" those Heroes going home to their loved ones.
I attempted to get my selfish outlook back in order and minutes before we landed I suggested to the attendant that she announce over the speaker a
request for everyone to remain in their seats until our hero's were allowed to gather their things and be first off the plane.
The cheers and applause continued until the last Marine stepped off and we
all rose to go about our too often taken for granted everyday freedoms......... I felt proud of them. I felt it an honor and a privilege to be among the first to welcome them home and say Thank You for a job well done. I vowed that I will never forget that flight nor the lesson learned. I can't say it enough, THANK YOU to those Veterans and active servicemen and women who may read this and a prayer for those who cannot because they are no longer with us.
GOD BLESS AMERICA! WELCOME HOME!
AND THANKS FOR A JOB WELL DONE !!!!!
This is a ribbon for soldiers fighting in Iraq.
Pass it on to everyone and pray.

generic name. For example, the trade name Tylenol is acetaminophen.
For instance, Aleve is known as naproxen, Amoxil is amoxicillin, and Advil is
ibuprophen.
The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After
consideration by a team of experts, it recently announced it has settled on the generic name of mycoxafloppin. Also considered were mycoxafailin, mydixadrupin, mydixarizin, mydixadud, dixafix, and of course ibepokin.
Pfizer Corp. is making an announcement today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. Pepsi's proposed ad campaign claims it will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one.
Obviously, we can no longer call this a soft drink. This additive
gives new meaning to the names of cocktails and highballs. Pepsi will market the new formula by the name, Mount & Do.
The long term implications of drugs and medical procedures must be fully considered. Over the past five years, Americans have spent more money on breast implants and Viagra than was spent on Alzheimer's research. It is believed that by the year 2030, there will be a large number of people wandering around with perky breasts and erections who can't remember what to do with them.
