Language Barrier
Industrial accidents happen all the time, and in 9 out of ten cases, it's because the worker did something stupid. Such was the case in
this story.
BUT there was something that truly angered me about this incident, and that was: "The worker, who had been on the job for two months, said his supervisor trained him by pointing and showing him tasks because the worker spoke only English and the supervisor spoke only Spanish."
Tell me, what company in it's right mind would allow a Spanish only speaker work as a supervisor in an American company?!? Bilingual, yes, but speaking ONLY a foreign language?!? The company got off light with the fine, it should have been MUCH higher, IMHO.

BURN THEM, BURN them ALL
Here's some
Good News. Some states are finally taking the proper attitude to the lowest dregs of the pervert element.
I'm sure that the ACLU will fight against this tooth and nail, after all, they are part of their core constituantcy....
My only quibble with the new law is, why TWICE convicted? Seems to me that this is a crime that should be a "no pass, go straight to Hell" thing on the FIRST conviction. After the first incident, there should be NO possibility of a second.

Ever wondered what Paradise was really like for those Jihadis that consider martyrdom the highest path to that end goal?
Seems that The Z-man got a cross-plane pass at the Paradise Internet Cafe and sent some of his first impressions to IowaHawk.

That's funny, we have one that has adopted us, yesterday it got the local bunny that was in the garden. I'm proud of him, but the wife is fuming. Seems she was kinda fond of the buck toothed raider. Still no ticket to the indoors, no special treatment, the cat can leave just as easily as it came.

YEEEEEE HAAAAA!

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the most wanted terrorist in Iraq, has gone (hopefully) to Hell, courtesy of the USAF. I'm not going to link any sources, you will no doubt have seen at least ten of them or more by now anyway.
The operation was clinical and precise. Two 500lb precision guided weapons and it was over. there were another 16 raids conducted simultaniously, hopefully yielding a good amount of intelligence for future operations, along with elimination of Jihadi operatives.
I'm just waiting to see what the reaction will be from the Moonbat Left, after all, it seems that HORRORS!, there was at least one woman and one child killed in the air strike, and I'm sure that fact will overshadow the elimination of one of the most evil human beings slime walking on two feet in the world.
"Bush should have made sure that no "innocents" were harmed" will be part of the grief expressed by the Moontards in the loss of one of their "freedom fighter" heroes.
UPDATE: It didn't take long:From the DU
It's almost an "open joke" among the military and civilians who know how PsyOps operate, and the History, that Zarqowi is merely a "Pentagon creation."
And oh, don't we need some good news now? It's so predictable I could write the OP Orders.
It's all bullshit LIES paraded around for PR exploitation.
We almost need wings to rise above it.
~#~#~#~#~##~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~##~
You don't get it ... this man, real or not, will NOT bring our troops home
any sooner. If you share a real bent for retribution, then, be happy he's dead. However, since this was another *precision* air strike, you must also wonder HOW MANY innocents died with him.
This means NOTHING. If you buy into the hype, you either are too young to remember Vietnam, or you're deluded by the PROPAGANDA.
*The Truth* is always the first sacrifice during war ... that's a FACT!
(Yeah, and notice that "truth" seems to be absent from this poster's rants/ also note the "innocents killed" cry of anguish~ DM)

Holland, I cry for thee, Pt.2
Alvino-Mario Fantini, a grduate student currently studying in Holland, has what I believe to be the
best diagnosis of what has been going wrong there for at least the last twenty years or so.
I think that he hits the nail square on the head when he says:
The national identity has been hollowed out over the years; traditional Dutch beliefs have been forsaken; and the past has been extirpated. Nihilism of this sort, regardless of the number of tulips that garland it, is an insufficient foundation on which to base liberal, democratic values or a vibrant, civil society.
Holland used to have a culture of devout religious belief, a belief that was almost unique in that it allowed a great deal of tolerance to varying creeds while maintaining it's central core. As Fantini point out in his article, that was not to say that the various groups, say Catholics and Protestants for the sake of the argument, walked hand in hand singing Kum-Ba-Yah and all was Tulips and Bier.
The groups relied on their fellows within their group for their support, not interacting with other groups except in the most general terms. BUT all of the groups allowed the others the freedom to practice as they pleased without interference or prejudice.
Once that core belief base is stripped away, there is nothing left to guide a society. Add in overwrought PC codes and the rewriting of a society's history, and you have a recipe for disaster.
People, Holland is acting as the canary in the mine, and judging by the canary's condition, the mine is filled with methane, and I fear that the effects may soon prove fatal.
The U.S. Left is following in the footsteps of that canary, and the results will be the same. There is still time to turn on the exhaust fans in the U.S. mine and clear the air, but we have to wake up to the fact that the air is polluted, and we'd best do it soon.

Sexist Humor
Two guys, one old and one young, are pushing their carts around Home Depot when they collide.
The old guy says to the young guy, "Sorry about that. I'm looking for my wife, and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."
The young guy says, "That's OK. It's a coincidence. I'm looking for my wife, too. I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate."
The old guy says, "Well, maybe we can help each other. What does your wife look like?
The young guy says, "Well, she is 27 yrs old, tall, with long blond hair, blue eyes, long legs, big boobs, and she's wearing tight white shorts. What does your wife look like?"
The old guy says,
"Doesn't matter --- let's look for yours."

COWARDS/Traitors and other scum
LC Jaybear gave me
this link, and it almost gave me a stroke.
Seems that Lt. Ehren Watada has been convinced by Not In Our Name to refuse to accept deployment when his unit is sent at the end of this month.
Lt. Watada claims not to be a contientious objector, and that he's not anti-all war, just THIS one.
“I refuse to be silent any longer. I refuse to watch families torn apart, while the President tells us to “stay the course.” … I refuse to be party to an illegal and immoral war against people who did nothing to deserve our aggression. I wanted to be there for my fellow troops. But the best way was not to help drop artillery and cause more death and destruction. It is to help oppose this war and end it so that all soldiers can come home.”
- LT Watada
The article claims that he attempted to resign his commission in protest of an "illegal and immoral war", but was refused.
I call BS. I consider Lt. Watada to be, at best, a brainwashed tool of a radical Left group (NION), and a spineless coward at worst.
They claim that the war is "illegal"...apparently they forgot the Senate vote authorizing the President to deploy troops. They claim that our soldiers "are targeting civilians"..no PROOF, mind you, but for the Left, the acccusation is considered fact.
They claim that we are using "illegal wapons in contravention of the Geneva Convention", again, NO evidence, but "accusations are fact".
They accuse us of "using torture"....the worst they can show is Abu Ghraib, and I saw much WORSE "torture" occuring in the course of a Fraternity initiation during my time as a LEO in a University district; and they conviently FORGET that the Army was investigation the matter 6 MONTHS before the press got a hold of it, and the participants are currently SERVING THEIR (DESERVED) sentences. The list of fallicies, half-truths and outright lies goes on and on; my B/P can't take any furthur reading of the tripe they spew, read it yourself, form your own opinion, and please, comment and let me know what YOU think.
Update: As Jaybear commented at the Rott; the fact that they announced this action on D-Day, of all days, only serves to make it even MORE heinious. It's a slap in the face of those 6,000 American heroes that died on that day.
2nd Update: Here is a list of just SOME possible charges that Lt. Watada may be facing:
# Article 88: Contempt towards official
# Article 87: Missing Movement
# Article 86: AWOL
# Article 133: Conduct unbecoming an Officer
I hope that you enjoy your stay in Leavanworth, Lt.

Bob Watada Honored for Herculean Effort to Clean Up Corruption in Government
By Malia Zimmerman, 11/4/2005 2:13:21 PM
Bob Watada
To many, Bob Watada is an honorable and courageous man, who despite his quick laugh and big heart, has not hesitated to bring to their knees and to jail some of the most powerful and corrupt political insiders in Hawaii.
To others, the recently retired state Campaign Spending Commission executive director is a despised scoundrel accused of having a political agenda and the gumption to use the powers of his office to forward that agenda.
To people at the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, Watada is a hero whose Herculean effort over the last decade dealt a major blow to corruption in Hawaii. And because of that, the non-profit free market think tank presented Watada with the Unsung Hero award at a Nov. 4, 2005, dinner being held at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki.
Those who have followed WatadaÂ’s career say he leaves behind a trail of broken politicians who misused campaign funds, including some jailed for their crimes, and a number of corporate directors who gave illegal contributions to gain favor in government procurement. For the most part, the people he investigated paid the price for participating in what Watada deemed HawaiiÂ’s "pay to play" system.
Under WatadaÂ’s direction, nearly 100 companies were fined between 2002 and 2005 for making "false name" contributions and excessive contributions primarily to Honolulu Mayor Jeremy Harris and former Gov. Benjamin Cayetano. The city prosecutor and federal government took over some of WatadaÂ’s cases charging corporate executives of those companies with money laundering, making illegal campaign contributions and tax evasion. The companies participated in the scheme to boost their chances of getting government contracts, concession rights or zoning clearances.
Watada also either headed investigations, or uncovered information, that led to a long line of powerful politicians going to jail. Those include Daniel Kihano, former speaker of the House; Milton Holt, one of the most powerful state Senators of his time; Andy Mirikitani and Rene Mansho, former council members; and Marshall Ige, a former legislator who served in the House and Senate for 16 years. While in the past all politicians involved in the campaign "pay to play" scheme were Democrats, most recently Watada helped secure a federal case against Republican candidate for Congress and Lieutenant Governor, Dalton Tanonaka.
Honolulu City Council Chair Jon Yoshimura, former Senator Cal Kawamoto and former Senator Melodie Aduja were investigated and subsequently fined for their campaign spending violations.
One of WatadaÂ’s primary investigations centered around former Honolulu Mayor Jeremy Harris, who served as Honolulu mayor for a decade, and was the target of the state Campaign Spending Commission for more that three years. While he escaped prosecution and jail time, more than 100 of Harris' supporters who laundered an estimated $1.5 million to his campaign were prosecuted and fined. The investigation is still under way.
But after taking on the Harris case, and the trail of high-paid lawyers who came with Harris, Watada suffered severe and frequent retaliatory actions by the Harris campaign. There was the ethics complaint, two federal lawsuits and one state lawsuit -- all of which ended favorably for Watada. At commission hearings, armed state security officers were present at the door, because commissioners had been threatened and investigated by the Harris campaign workers.
In addition to bringing down politicians and blowing a major hole in the DemocratsÂ’ well-established fundraising machine, Watada was involved in the investigation into Bishop Estate, a multi-billion dollar trust for Hawaiian children that was considered the land and power arm of the Democratic Party of Hawaii. The five trustees of the Bishop Estate eventually resigned or were forced out after a series of scandals, including cultivating Democrat candidates and funding their campaigns with trust monies, were revealed by Watada, IRS agents and the state attorney general.
The Campaign Spending Commission wasnÂ’t always so aggressive, in part because Democrat political operatives were once in WatadaÂ’s position. The first executive director of the Campaign Spending Commission was Robert Klein, who later was appointed a Hawaii Supreme Court judge. Klein, who served as the executive director from 1974 to 1975, is now a political operative and attorney for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, former Mayoral Candidate Duke Bainum and the Bishop Estate.
Wally Weatherwax took over the Campaign Spending Commission for three years beginning in 1975. He was recently fired as the city Liquor Commission executive director in part because eight of 15 Honolulu Liquor Commission inspectors working under the Democrat-appointed liquor commissioner, were indicted on 57 counts of racketeering and extortion for allegedly taking bribes from bar owners in return for ignoring liquor law violations.
Jack Gonzalves was the next director of the Campaign Spending Commission after Weatherwax, but was fired in 1994 after being arrested by federal agents for his involvement in a ponzi scheme. Gonsalves is still serving his 16-year term in federal prison. Watada, who was a commissioner on the state Campaign Spending Commission at the time of GonsalvesÂ’ arrest, took over the position for the next decade.
Clearing the black cloud over the commission took years of hard work, honesty, integrity, dedication and consistency by Watada, his supporters say.
However, Watada took each day and each new case in stride. Taking the ups and downs during his career with a sense of humor, and taking time out for himself to play tennis or join in an aerobics class, was one of the keys to WatadaÂ’s success. He also spends quite a bit of time volunteering at Waialae School, a charter school, where he is a board member.
Lucky in his career -- Watada also was lucky in love. He recently married Rosa Sakanishi Miyakawa whom he fell in love with more than three decades ago while he was in the Peace Corps, but had to leave behind in Peru.
Rosa and Bob Watada
When time allows, Watada and Rosa, who live in Hawaii Kai, visit her 32-year-old son, Jorge, who lives in Japan and they plan to spend more than a year with him in Japan beginning in 2006. They also spend time in the mainland visiting WatadaÂ’s two grown sons, Lorin and Ehren.

Keko, how about putting forth a argument in defense of your position rather than just ad hominum attacks on "scumbag republicans"?
LT. Watada made a committment, to his nation,to his superiors, and most importantly, to the men he was to lead. He made that committment with full knowledge of what it entailed.
It is obvious that the terms Duty, Honor, and Country have no meaning to you personally, but in a Servicemans life, they are the core root.
Kt. Watada lost his Honor when he refused to do his Duty, and in doing so, he has failed his Country.
I do think he can be given a slight amount of praise in that he apparently did try to resign his commission, but his subsequent actions are anathema to anyone that has ever served. And the facts that he made public his intentions on D-Day, of all days, and that he states that he is NOT a C-O, only prove that what he is doing is out of a political agenda, and not true core moral belief.
"Robert"....just what is your point? In the future, please just put a link to whatever story your trying to use for whatever your point is?

Delfts, what happened to your trolls? One is barely literate, the other rambles on about nothing in particular, sucking up the bandwidth. The first troll is easy enough to understand. Some pimply little teenage loser huffing glue in his daddy's garage, in between trips to his mom's room to try on her bras and to troll web sites from her computer in search for attention, and for an outlet for his pathetic angst against the unfair mean world.
As for Ramblin' Robert... If he had just put down that "peace pipe" for a day, he would probably write a bit more coherently. As it is, his post appears to be a spam post, and I will not be surprised if he copied and pasted it on other blogs.

Keko thinks that anyone who dosen't think along the Communist Party line is a Republican. It was FDR who negotiated on behalf of Europe at Yalta, it was Truman who engineered two Koreas, it was Kennedy & Johnson who gave us the Vietnam war then the Democrats abandoned it, it was Carter and his bumbling who set up present day Iran and it was Clinton who let Bin Laden have a pass. The feckless U.N. gave us the Iraq war, because a Democrat regime didn't have the gumption to enforce a negotiated treaty that Hussein violated on a daily basis.
Watada will always have a home amongst the likes of you Keko. Scumbag!!!

Iraq is just an excuse to make "your President" and his "base" richer. Therefore, the lives of so many of our boys are being lost. My son is in the marines and is now in Iraq. I support the troops but not the fact that this war was orchestrated way before Dumbo, meaning Dubwa, became President. Remenber the "decider", whatever that means.

Had he waited merely one day (in fact, he said he was going to make is official announcement today) he would have probably NOT said he would defect. Why? Because with Zarqawi dead our chances for success have increased dramatically. He would have not taken the chance of defaming himself and looking like a loser when we're on the cusp of success. Too bad his press conference scheduled for today will not generate ANY interest (Im sure hes cancelled it). Nice job moron!!

An Oldie, but still pertinent
Why Is It That We Have To Speak English?
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a Naval conference that included
admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French
Navies.
At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a group of
half dozen or so officers that included personnel from most of the
countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but
a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many
languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked: "Why is it
that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than
speaking French?"
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied: "Maybe it's because
the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't
have to speak German."
Suddenly the group became very quiet.

Well today is that day that occurs only once every century, the dreaded 6-6-6. There are a lot of nuts out there trying to lend special significance to this day because of that number being the "mark of the Beast" in Revelations.
I think it sounds cool (just say 6-6-06 fast three times!), but other than that it's just another day.
Just to be on the safe side, I keep one of these around to fend off any intruding demons:

War, HUH, WHAT is it good for?
Every time I hear a moonbat say that "war never solved any problems" I just turn my ears off. They are coming from a Moonbeam and Unicorn world that has little to do with reality; where holding hands and singing Kum-Ba-Yah is all that is needed for any "misunderstanding between people" to be solved.
I wish the world DID work that way, but on all too many occasions I've been faced with the grim reality that there are people that have ONLY one thing in mind; to do me and mine physical harm, and they won't let a kind heart stop them.
The next time I hear this tripe, I think I'll just refer them to this:

F.E.T.E.

I found a new site that really interested me. It's run by vets of both the Afghanistan and Iraq campaighns, and their goal is to bring out the truth, both good and bad about the War on Terror.
So when you have a moment, go to Vets for Freedom at the top of my "National Stuff" blogroll, and give them all the support you can.
These men and women have EARNED the right to opine on the subject as most of the those who blather on about "massacres" and "quagmires" HAVEN'T.
H/T to Kiril over at Sneakeasy's Joint for the heads up.

The perfect quote is what that is! Not just because I agree but also because that is how it should be.

Think About It !!
I got this in my e-mail from Catfish today, and while it's certainly totally
un-PC, it's certainly food for thought....
You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You call me "Whiteboy", "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey" and you think it's OK.
But when I call you, nigger, Kike, Towelhead, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink you call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have have Ma'uled Al-Nabi
You have the NAACP.
You have BET.
If we had WET(white entertainment television) we'd be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day you would call us racists.
If we had white history month, we'd be racists.
If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives, we'd be racists.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US, yet if there were "White colleges" that would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us.
But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.
I am proud.
But, you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists?

Never, Wanda! You got just enough common sense to make it interesting, unlike the Moonbat division of your side of the aisle.

Polititians as sustenance
Two alligators were sitting in the swamp talking. The smaller one turned to the bigger one and said, "I cain't unnerstand how you kin be so much bigger 'n me. We're the same age, we was the same size as kids. I just don't get it."
"Well," said the big 'gator, What you been eatin' boy?"
"Politicians, same as you," replied the small 'gator.
"Hmm. Well, where do y'all catch 'em?"
"Down 'tother side of the swamp near the parkin' lot by the capitol."
"Same here. Hmm. How do you catch 'em?"
"Well, I crawls up under one of them Lexus and wait fer one to unlock the car door. Then I jump out, grab 'em on the leg, shake the shit out of 'em, and eat 'em!"
"Ah!" says the big alligator, "I think I see your problem. You ain't gettin' any real nourishment. See, by the time you get done shakin' the shit out of a Politician, there ain't nothin' left but an asshole and a briefcase
