Poker in Politics?
Steve macklin of Hold the Mayo has a podcast where he outlines his thoughts on why the Adminstration has been slow to respond to Democratic criticism on the war in Iraq.

I don't know if what he posits is truly the Republican strategy, but it does sound like the type of manuvering that Karl Rove is so good at....and you have to admit, the Democrats have have manuvered themselves into a bit of a corner.
IF we can demonstrate great positive gains in Iraq in the near future, and even more importantly, inform the American public of those gains; the Democrats will have ensured their total irrelevence in the next election.

I hope Steve has it right but for those who obfuscate, obstruct and outright undermine the our freedom by their overt treasonous acts one of our forefathers said it best.
