STILL believe the Brady Bunch don't want to confiscate your weapons?
What will it take to wake you up to the GFW Agenda; the police breaking down your front door in a search for your (heretofore) legally owned weapons and ammunition? Get educated, get aware to what is truly happening, get involved in protecting one of your most basic rights.
If you don't do these thing, and soon, May I wish you all the happiness in the United Socialist States of Amerika, Comrade?, as for me, I believe I will be one of those "Capitalist Running Dog Counter-Revolutionaries that the State protected you from. I may be dead, but I died free...may your chains ever lay lightly upon you, but you will deserve to wear them if you won't fight before they come to put them on you.

I sure couldn't put it any better than she has in this scathing condemnation of those responsible for the current state of the Republic.
As cartoon character Pogo once remarked "We have met the enemy, and he is us".
I'm tired of yelling into the wilderness, all I can do from this point on is prepare myself and mine for the coming storm and the chaos it will bring. I beg you all, do the same.

Any Congress-critter "bold" stupid enough to even THINK of such a bill even ten years ago would have, rightly, been run out of town on a rail with a thick coat of tarry feathers to keep him warm.
Why I am I so incensed? Read some of the provisions of the bill, if YOU are not incensed at the proposed denials of a basic right recognized in our Constitution, I question your patriotism, if not your sanity.
Mr. Rush (D -IL) is proposing a vast new bureaucracy that will have control over your basic right of self protection, the very bedrock of our Republic. He is of the opinion that the Government has the right to restrict weapons to those few it deems "safe" and control even those people to such an extent that their ownership becomes a mere caricature of ownership.
The only question before us now is: are We the People made of the same stuff as our Founding Fathers ? They threw over a tyranical government for much less reason. Have We become too complacent and/or cowardly to stand up for the basic rights They fought,sweated,bled, and died to let us freely exercise?
Read your history people. I suggest you concentrate on Germany circa 1934 to 1938. Don't make the mistake to believe "it can't happen here". It IS happening here, at the least, the beginnings are happening NOW; we have time to change it before it's too late, but not much time, and it will take courage and a steely resolve to fight to stop it.

Captainsql has a tongue in cheek proposal to smooth over the current polarization between the Left and those of us who are correct.
I must say that his last request is highly agreeable to me...., hell, I would wish it to occur regardless of all the rest of the proposal. I'm sure Mssr. Car-ter would be much more comfortable among his own kind, and it seems that Hamas or France both need some new blood in the upper echelons of power...

Never has a President had to labor to accomplish any worthwhile policies under such radical extremes of reactions.
Thinking back over the last eight years I am reminded of a speech made by another President that was not always appreciated in his own day, the Rough Rider Teddy Roosevelt made in the Sorbonne in 1920 when he put it all into perspective when he said:
"It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat."
Mr. Bush, you expended yourself in the worthiest cause any President can do; the safety of the American Republic from the most insidious enemy we've faced in at least 60 years. The work is far from over, the final battles not yet enjoined, but for your part of the fight it can be accounted that the main mission was accomplished.
For that effort Mr. President, thank you. May you enjoy your retirement from the Ship of State for may long years to come, secure in the knowledge that History will judge you far kinder than the present Partisan reactionaries already trying to recast the past in their mold of their limited partisan view.

You can always hold your head high and declare that your Main Mission was Accomplished, to the benefit of us all.

The SCOTUS refused a writ of certiorari on Dec 5, in a case presented to it about this question. There are, however, at least three other suits still active with this question at their very heart and if you think about it, this question puts the validity of the very Constitution to the test.
The Constitutional requirements for eligibility are extremely simple, namely that:
1. The candidate be a Naturally born Citizen.
2. The candidate shall have attained the age of at least thirty five (35) years.
That's IT. No more. Easily proven and totally reasonable requirements.
If we can allow a usurper to become POTUS without protest, then every principle that this country is founded upon no longer has any practical meaning, and we are plunged into a chaos of "every man for himself" using the application of power to attain his goals.
Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr., Ph.D., J.D. has an excellent analysis of the legal question and it's possible ramifications that should be read by every member of the Electorate.
In my mind, Mr. Obama is demonstrating his unfitness for the post by his very refusal to cooperate in settling the question. It poses NO hardship or loss of any kind on his part, ASSUMING HIS ELIGIBILITY, and his refusal lends credence to the assertions of his accusers, to the detriment of the nation as a whole.
Are these the actions of a Patriot,indeed, of just any responsible Citizen? This does not bode well for the Obama Administration, for such demonstrated hubris will not, and CANNOT, long remain in a Democratic Republican system without either the purveyor of said hubris or the system itself breaking down into total ineffectiveness.
That the man refuses to put to rest a question that can so easily be refuted demonstrates a total lack of concern for the body politic, and a personal hubris that ill befits a leader in a Democratic system.
We have suffered under the effects of BDS for the last eight years; I do not wish to become a victim of ODS; I want to be able to support my President as much as possible given our differences in visions allows, and engage in respectful opposition where that vision differs, but this is not an auspicious way for that type of interaction to begin.

With a lock-hold on the reins of two of the three branches of government, the Demoncrats are proposing to "more fairly distribute" the money you manage to put into retirement savings among all levels of income earners (even to those at the bottom 20% who earn NOTHING by their own effort)
This is nothing but bald faced governmental THEFT in the name of "FAIRNESS".
It is nothing less than Socialism at it's worst and should not be able to stand in a country that was founded on the principles of individual freedom and equality of opportunity. Socialists fail to realize that equal OPPORTUNITY does NOT mean that there will be equal RESULTS.
If the Democratically controlled government persists in these actions there will be one of two results;
A. A Soviet style dictatorship that will be the end of the promise that America always held out to the world. The promise of a country where hard work and individual effort resulted in the highest standard of living the world has ever seen,
OR
B. A second (and even bloodier) American Civil War. Hopefully the correct side of the conflict will prevail and we will be able to go back to beginning and start the dream over; and even stronger, for having been tempered by the blast furnace of battle.
There you go, you 52%. You voted for "Change", I HOPE you enjoy the results of your stupidity.
For the rest of us; the "48%", it's time to stockpile weapons and ammunition, and to start organizing the Militia to take back our birthright of freedom.

I'm not crying about this event though, it just may be the cold hard slap of reality that we need to finally wake up to what has been happening for the last thirty years. The times are somewhat difficult right now, but I am all but certain that we will look back in another four years time and pine for these "good ole days".
I believe that when the general populace starts realizing just what is going on around them, and more importantly, TO them, in an Obama Administration, they will finally begin awakening from their somnambulance and start resisting, let's just have HOPE that it won't be too little, too late.
For tonight I just say: Congratulations, President-Elect Obama.
Just remember, the fight is just beginning.

They took off for his cause

I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into office, our company will install a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:
1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales and bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are underachieving a “fair shake.”
2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves. This will help those who are “too busy for overtime” to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.
3. All top management will now be referred to as “the government.” We will not participate in this “pooling” experienc because the law doesn't apply to us.
4. The “government” will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging it's workers to continue to work hard “for the good of all.”
5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's “good to spread the wealth.” Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more
“patriotic.”
6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free foodstamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flatscreen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?) !!!
If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.

It was written by a Mr. Beckwith, about whom I am totally ignorant of, but having read his Opinion, I find there to be much food for thought.
It is a Loooooong piece, but well worth the time to read. I put the page in it's entirety under the fold as it seems that many anti-Obama pages just seem to "disappear" suddenly, and I felt the questions raised were important to raise in the general awareness of the population (yeah, BOTH of you who read me, LOL).
Don't believe a word of it just because it is presented as fact, but use it as a basis of your own research on the man that may very well become our POTUS and CiC. Check your own gut as you do your research and I think you may find, as I did, a great deal that is valid cause for great concern.
Above all, remember that it is your DUTY as a citizen to try to become as informed as possible on ALL the candidates and the major issues. ONLY by being informed can you cast a truly responsible vote. The fate of our Republic is in OUR hands, it behooves every one of us to excercise due diligence in that responsibility.
