Nothing more frustrating to be waiting for a page to come up...and wait ....and wait...... and then have "cannot find server" pop up like a smart ass in your face remark.
I would comment on some news of the day, but I can't reach any, so I'm reduced to this inane bitching. I watched part of the Republican debate the other night and was highly impressed with Fred's performance; especially when he slammed Huckabee...Huckabee just showed what an ignoramus he truly is;and the rest of the field just went through the same old same old BS we've come o expect from Politicos. I truly fear that the time to lock and load is drawing ever closer, and more inevitable than ever.
On a personal note, I found out yesterday that even the group that touts itself as buying houses in any condition wouldn't touch my hovel on any basis except an extremly low short sale, so it seems that I'm going to have to take the hit on my credit and try to go that route; it's marginally better than an outright foreclosure, but I have no choice. I simply can't afford to keep bleeding half my limited resources every month on a house that is uninhabitable. I would try to rehab the joint, but I think it would only be putting good money in a sink hole, and Beth still wouldn't want to live there anyway, even IF it was totally redone...women are funny that way. It would always be MamaMontez's house, no matter what was done to it. Oh well, shit happens, and I've rolled with the punches before, just gotta do so again, and I'm lucky just to have someone that truly cares for me like Beth does. It's a rare thing and I don't care about the rest as long as she's there to help me face whatever comes next.
To my shame, I took love like that for granted before; I won't make that same mistake again. Same with any of you that read here with any frequency; I truly am grateful for each and every one of you. I thank you from the bottom of my little black heart.
I'll be back the next time the computer behaves as it should, hopefully less maudelin and more on topic with whats going on in the bigger world.

I don't always agree with Mr. Whilock, but in this case, I think he's hit the nail square on the head.
Sean Taylor is being mourned as a victim, with any mention of his past labled as "racist" and "blaming the minority". The fact is that we all have to deal with the consequences of our past actions; the real tragedy here is that an innocent 18 month old baby is also having to face consequences as well. She didn't deserve to lose her father before she could really know him, and that is a tragedy that is repeated all too often in the Black community, to the great detriment of us all.

Knievel had been in failing health for years, suffering from diabetes and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs. He had undergone a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of hepatitis C, likely contracted through a blood transfusion after one of his bone-shattering spills.
His death comes just two days after it was announced that he and rapper Kanye West had settled a federal lawsuit over the use of Knievel's trademarked image in a popular West music video.
Knievel was the first of two children born to Robert and Ann Knievel. He was born in Butte, Montana. Robert and Ann divorced in 1940, just after the birth of their second child, Nic. Both parents decided to leave Butte and their two children to get a new start. The children were raised by their paternal grandparents, Ignatius and Emma Knievel. At the age of eight, Knievel attended a Joie Chitwood Auto Daredevil Show, which he credits for his later career choice to become a motorcycle daredevil.
Knievel dropped out of high school after his sophomore year and got a job with the Anaconda Mining Company as a diamond drill operator in the copper mines. He was promoted to surface duty where his job was driving a large earth mover. Knievel was fired when he made the earth mover pop a motorcycle-type wheelie and drove it into Butte's main power line, leaving the city without electricity for several hours. With a lot of time on his hands, Knievel began to get into more and more trouble around Butte. After one particular police chase in 1956 in which he crashed his motorcycle, Knievel was taken to jail on a charge of reckless driving. When the night jailer came around to check the roll, he noted Robert Knievel in one cell and William Knofel in the other. Knofel was well known as "Awful Knofel," so Knievel began to be referred to as Evel Knievel. The nickname stuck.

Knievel was best known for a failed 1974 attempt to jump an Idaho canyon on a rocket-powered cycle and a spectacular crash at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. He suffered nearly 40 broken bones before he retired in 1980.
Evel Knievel led a varied life, being at various times a miner, a fairly resourcefull insurance salesman (he even sold some policies to institutionalized mental patients), a hocky player/team owner , a burgler (it was rumored that he bought his first motorcycle with funds that he "liberated" from the Butte County Courthouse) a motocross rider, and a stunt rider.
He certainly wasn't a saint, indeed, often a sinner, bragidocious, self-promoting and gaudy, but he "did it HIS way" and always to provide for his family, and thats not a bad thing to be remembered for.

It would be a nice touch to the Iraq war to have a Koranic verse to apply to it, but really, to fake it cheapens the sacrifices made by our troops in what I believe to be a just and necessary war. Our troops are doing fine without the Shamanistic touches, especially those that are patently false.

Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, Feeling that

discouragement, the Adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by
placing thoughts into the weary mind: (He will do it every time)!
You have been pushing against that rock for a long time and it hasn't
moved.' Thus, he gave t he man the impression that the task was
impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and
disheartened the man.
Satan said, 'Why kill yourself over this? Just put in your time, giving
just the minimum effort; and that will be good enough.'
That's what the weary man planned to do, but decided to make it a matter
of Prayer and to take his troubled thoughts to The Lord.

against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done.

task was to push. And now you come to Me with your strength spent,
thinking that you have failed.
But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and
muscled, your back shiny and brown; your hands are callused from
constant pressure, your legs have become massive and hard.
Through opposition you have grown much, and your abilities now surpass
that which you used to have. True, you haven't moved the rock. But your
calling was to be Obedient and to push and to exercise your Faith and
trust in My wisdom. That you have done. Now I, my friend, will move the
rock. "
At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect
to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is just simple
obedience and faith in Him.
By all means, exercise the Faith that moves mountains, but know that it
is still God Who moves The Mountains.

1967 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2007 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.
Scenario: Johnny and Mark get into a fistfight after school.
1967 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.
2007 - Police called, SWAT team arrives, arrests Johnny and Mark. Charge them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it.
Scenario: Jeffrey won't be still in class, disrupts other students.
1967 - Jeffrey sent to office and given a good paddling by the Principal. Returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.
2007 - Jeffrey given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. Tested for ADD. School gets extra money from state because Jeffrey has a disability.
Scenario: Billy breaks a window in his neighbor's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.
1967 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college, and becomes a successful businessman.
2007 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster care and joins a gang. State psychologist tells Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison. Billy's mom has affair with psychologist.
Scenario: Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.
1967 - Mark shares aspirin with Principal out on the smoking dock.
2007 - Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug violations. Car searched for drugs and weapons.
Scenario: Pedro fails high school English.
1967 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English, goes to college.
2007 - Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro given diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.
Scenario: Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from 4th of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed.
1967 - Ants die.
2007 - BATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated, Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.
Scenario: Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary hugs him to comfort him.
1967 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.
2007 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy.

The doctor on call for the Care Group called me in the evening and informed me that I should hie myself to the Emergency room and expect to be admitted, as my fasting blood sugar level had tested out at 398 and with my B/P and other risk factors, I was seemingly near a stroke or cardic incident occurring.
I went to the ER and they hooked me up to an IV and started drawing about 7 tubes of blood for lab tests. (The nurse/tech was cute, but when she thought it was "normal" for blood to be pooling around on the outside of the IV needle, I started questioning her abilities). They informed me that my glucose level was now at 500+, but that the IV would take care of that. An hour later they unhooked the IV and told me to go home and that I was to go see my Primary Care Physician first thing in the morning, unless I experienced any unusual pains or numbnesses. which I should regard as a sign to return to the ER asap. (they had me there, why not just keep me for observation if they were concerned of further developments?!).
I saw my PCP this morning....I didn't have an appointment, and the desk clerk was outraged at the lack of same, but my PCP is a good guy and slipped me in between some regularly scheduled victims patients and added two new drugs to my already overextensive list of daily meds and told me to come back in three weeks.
They took a blood draw to check my kidney and heart enzymes but never took a glucose reading, just assumed that a diagnosis of adult onset type 2 Diabetes was to be added to the list of my medical conditions. So I'm in limbo for the next three weeks as the newly added drugs (to) my already extensive list of daily medications start the process of trying to keep a stable blood glucose level in my system. What fun!
Sometimes you just have to sit back and laugh at it all, and remember that, no matter how seriously you take yourself; you aren't making it out alive at the end, so enjoy the ride while you can.

Just a quick refresher course lest we forget what has happened to many "friends" of the Clintons.
1- James McDougal - Clinton's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr's investigation. (I think that this one was "natural causes"...but you have to admit that the stress Mr. McDougal was under could be labled "Clintonian induced")
2 - Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just before she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.
3- Vince Foster - Former White House counselor and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide (even though there were heel drag marks leading up to where his body lay in a park; there was very little blood found at the scene,and the fatal bullet was never found).
4- Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman, reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation
reported that there was a hole in Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. The rest of the people on the plane also died.
A few days later the air Traffic controller committed suicide.
5- C. Victor Raiser II- Raiser, a major player in the Clinton fund raising
organization died in a private plane crash in July 1992.
6- Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead
in a hotel room in Little Rock, September 1992. He was described by Clinton
as a "Dear friend and trusted advisor".
7- Ed Willey - Clinton fund raiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the
woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head.
Ruled a suicide, Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.
8- Jerry Parks -Head of Clinton's gubernatorial security team in Little Rock.
He was gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Park's son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information.
After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.
9- James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. His "Black Book" of people
which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas
and Arkansas was never found.
10- James Wilson - Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He had ties to Whitewater.
11- Kathy Ferguson - Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found
dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere.
Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a corroborating witness for Paula Jones.
12- Bill Shelton - Bill Shelton, Arkansas State Trooper and fiancé=E9 of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancé=E9, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound. He also was ruled a suicide at the gravesite of his fiancé.
13- Gandy Baugh - Gandy Baugh, attorney for Clinton's friend Dan Lassater,
died by jumping out a window of a tall building January, 1994. His client was
a convicted drug distributor reputed to have sold drugs to the Clintons.
14- Florence Martin - Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related
to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot
wounds.
15- Suzanne Coleman - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was
Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. She was pregnant at the time of her death.
16- Paula Grober - Paula Grober, was Clinton's speech interpreter for the
deaf, from 1978 until her death, December 9, 1992. She had vast information
about both Clinton's personal lives. She died in a one car accident on a
deserted Arkansas road.
17- Danny Casolaro - Danny Casolaro, an investigative reporter, was investi-
gating Mena Airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He slit his
wrists apparently in the middle of his investigation.
18- Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with
Casolaro and the 1980 "October Surprise" was found dead on a toilet seat June
22, 1993 in his Washington DC apartment. He had delivered a report to Janet
Reno 3 weeks before his death.
19- Jon Parnell Walker - Jon Parnell Walker, Whitewater investigator for
Resolution Trust Corp., jumped to his death from his Arlington, Virginia
apartment balcony August 15, 1993. He was investigating the Morgan Guaranty scandal.
20- Barbara Wise - Commerce Department staffer, worked closely with Ron
Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. She died November 29, 1996. Her bruised, nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.
21- Charles Meissner - Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang
special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash. (boy, small planes were really having problems in the Clinton Era, huh?)
22- Dr. Stanley Heard - Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Ad-
visory Committee died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash.
Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton's advisory council personally
treated Clinton's mother, stepfather and brother.
23-Barry Seal - Drug running pilot out of Mena Arkansas , death was no
accident.
24-Johnny Lawhorn Jr. - Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in
the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car
had hit a utility pole.
25-Stanley Huggins - Investigated Madison Guaranty. His death was a purported suicide and his report was never released.
26- Hershell Friday - Attorney and Clinton fund raiser died March 1, 1994
when his plane exploded.
27- Kevin Ives & Don Henry - Known as "The boys on the track" case. Reports
say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation.
A controversial case, the initial report of death said, due to falling
asleep on railroad tracks. Later reports claim the 2 boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their
testimony could come before a Grand Jury.
THE FOLLOWING PERSONS HAD INFORMATION ON THE IVES/HENRY CASE:
28- Keith Coney - Died when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a truck.
7/88.
29- Keith McMaskle - Died stabbed 113 times, Nov, 1988
30- Gregory Collins - Died from a gunshot wound January 1989.
31- Jeff Rhodes - He was shot, mutilated and found burned in a trash dump in
April 1989.
33- James Milan - Found decapitated. However, the Coroner ruled his death
was due to "natural causes". (yeah, Jihadi death by a knife/sword cutting through the throat is "natural causes" too!)
34- Jordan Kettleson - Was found shot to death in the front seat of his
pickup truck in June 1990.
35- Richard Winters - A suspect in the Ives / Henry deaths. He was killed in
a set-up robbery July 1989.

Quite an impressive list!
Talk about a dangerous work environment. Like I said at the outset, any single one of these deaths could be truly "accidental" or unrelated, but you take the sheer volume of the numbers and the fact that the only tie between all of them is that they were all involved in some way to the Clintons, and that they could testify against the Clintons.
How would you feel if you knew damaging information about either of the

My hometown newsrag, The Indianapolis Star, has a feature called "Let it Out" which allows readers to opine on anything they should be thinking about. On Friday, August 31, 2007, a (IMHO) jackass/"progressive" (but I repeat myself) posited the following statement:
"I guess you could consider America the greatest country in the world when it would rather spend billions putting a piece of metal in space than aid those in need of jobs, food, and shelter."
I've heard this argument time and time again, ie: "why spend money on the space program when we have so many needs here on Earth ?", and usually it comes from a sincerely caring type of "progressive" that always bemoans any money spent other than welfare and other types of aid to "the poor"; whether here at home, or across the world.
I've had knock down-dragout fights arguments with family members over this issue.
My position is that the Space Program is the best thing that this country has done since first positing the idea of freedom of the individual. The fact is that every dollar that we have spent on space has returned tenfold to the good of our society in terms of new products, technology, and ability to help the greatest number for the lowest cost. I contend that money spent on space has helped more disadvantaged people than ANY of the "Great Society" welfare/Medicaid programs have.
WHY do I feel that way? Think about it. I'll wait.
You say you still think I'm talking out of my ass? Okay, YOU tell me of any major step forward in just about any area where it wasn't made possible by the space program within, at most, three degrees of separation.
NASA has a site that just touches some highlights of spin-offs, to include general areas such as:
1. Computer Technology
2. Consumer/Home/Recreation
3. Environmental and Resource Management
4. Health and Medicine
5. Industrial Productivity/Manufacturing Technology
6. Public Safety
7. Transportation
Those are main points, but remember that progress rarely develops in straight lines; many times, one piece of new technology often affects development in multiple other areas that you would not at first think connected.
James Burke has made a career of outlining historical "Connections" of progress through history. The fact is that the space program has exponentially increased the pace of those "connections" between various disciplines, to the betterment of the world in general.
Here is my challenge: Tell me any step of forward progress that hasn't benefited from/or been caused by the space program, within three degrees of separation, within the last thirty years.
That microwave you just used to pop some popcorn before an evenings stroll through the www? Space program.
That MRI that just alerted your doctor that he'd better treat you quickly before your (insert disease of choice here) has reached the stage that there is no treatment and you're soon to meet your maker? Space program again.
The PC/laptop that your're using to read this? Bingo! Space program.
Okay, let me have your best shot.

I am continually outraged by the seeming lack of interest on the part of the authorities in stemming the tide of ILLegal immigration currently occurring on our (mainly southern) borders.
NO country in history that has ceased to enforce it's borders has lasted for very long afterwards. I find it very telling that those that decry our immigration policies as "draconian" and "anti-familial" come mainly from a country who's immigration policies ARE truly thus....
As any right thinking person is, I am NOT anti-immigration; I'm merely in favor of immigration being controlled and occuring under rule of law.
This story at Town Hall demonstrates the difference between what is currently extant, and what should be.
Elvira Arellano represents everything wrong with the invasion that is occuring at present, and make no mistake, it IS an invasion. Invaders care nothing for our laws or culture, they merely wish to be parasites feeding off the bounty that our culture produces and making a mockery of everything that leads to that bounty being produced.
REAL immigrants are like Maria Torres-DeChamberlin; they come here through the LEGAL system, and they work hard at becoming a part of U.S. culture.
They earn their right to become citizens. they realize that America is great because of it's unique culture, and they want to become a part of that cuture. That does not mean that they are ashamed of their native culture, far from it, but they allow the American culture to supercede the native.
For myself, the proudest day of my life was when I raised my right hand and swore my allegience only to the U.S., renouncing all political ties to the country of my birth. The only day that comes close is when I again raised my hand and swore to protect my new homeland and her Constitution from ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic.
With the current lack of enforcement of our laws against what amounts to an invasion of our shores by those who are entrusted with protecting those shores; I fear the time may come soon when I will be forced to uphold my oath and rebel against those that hold that oath as meaningless in their pursuit of political power. May God help us if/when that day dawns, for this "bright shining city on the hill", as Ronald Reagan put it, will no longer exist.

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."
"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.
"No", she replied. "He's out."
"Then we cannot come in", they replied.
In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.
"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in.
"We do not go into a House together," they replied.
"Why is that?" she asked.
One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"
His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"
Their daughter was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"
"Let us heed our daughter's advice," said the husband to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest." The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."
Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"
The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!!!!"

They tend not to have a lot of experience with weapons of any type, so when a grandmotherly Iraqi woman showed off some unspent cartridges that she claimed hit her house during an American raid on a suspected terrorist cell site, they (being the top rate Journos they are, never leaving a hint of US Army perfidity unexposed) ran with the story, photos and all, with all assurrance that the public would be greatful for their bravery in being in a war zone and bringing them proof of how eeeeeevil our military really is. Too bad that a great portion of the public does take that story to heart (mainly on the "Progressive" side of the aisle, but that's another rant in it'self)
To those that THINK however, the story would have been MUCH more credible had they they shown BULLETS, rather than unspent CARTRIDGES, and even MORE credible had the cartridges been of a caliber used by the U.S. military rather than in the type used by the AK47 (favorite of, guess who---the ISLAMOFACISTS)
To help the AFP in future reporting, the Dissident Frogman has put together a basic course on how small arm weapons work. I don't know, but I believe he may have gotten too technical for the average Journo to really comprehend, but we can always hope for a rare moment of true comprehension on the part of the terminally uninformed...
