Just wondering...

WHY is it that every time one on the opposite side of the aisle from me comments on my site, they never leave a valid e-mail address?

I leave my mine on their sites when I visit...could it just be that they just don't wish to be held accountable for their views?

Just wondering thats all. Mailer Demon will just have to deal with my repeated returned mails....

State Senate Hijinks

I was reading one my left leaning sites and saw where the owner was decrying that Republicans "were fighting dirty", and that the Dhims needed to do the same.

Actually, I bemoan the fact that, in some cases, the Republicans have sunk to the level of Democratic Party tactics. The GOP is better than that.

Here in Indiana, we've had a reprisal of the Democratic snit that played out in Texas last year, where the Dhims wouldn't enter the chamber so that there could be a quorem so that debate/votes could be taken.

This seems to be the new Demoncratic tactic; if they don't like the bills proposed, they don't want to try to debate them, they just take their baby behinds home and make it so that NO business can be done. And they still expect to be paid for NOT doing what they are being paid for.

I ask the voters of Indiana to take note of the whiners that can't even TRY to fight for their own positions and ensure that they don't have the chance to pull such stunts after the next election. The Dhims keep asking for "reconciliation" and "compromise", but in their actions, those words seem to mean "do it OUR way, or we won't play". Must be a new dictionary that they're using....
The same type of thing seems to be happening in the US Senater too. The Dhims need to realize that they are no longer the majority party. They need to fight for what they believe in (if they can figure out what that is) but realize that they won't win every time as they used to when they were the majority. And that is NOT "dirty fighting". The electorate chose what they wanted, and the GOP won. The GOP needs to start ACTING like a majority party and not bow to the childish snits of spoiled brats.

I feel that we need to make some SERIOUS cuts in spending, and not the farcical "cuts" that they tout so far. We need to make the tax cuts permanent too, so that business can be assured about what the climate will be for at least this cycle and plan their spending accordingly. The "Fair Tax" plan is something that should be seriously considered.

That breeze of freedom is atarting to blow

Even the Grey Old Lady has had to start to admit that events in the Middle East are changing in surprising(and to Leftists, disturbing) ways.

President Bush had stated that his goal in the M.E. was nothing less than to try to start a democratization of the regimes in the area. This was decried by the Left as unrealistic "Cultural Imperialism" and quite obviously could never happen.

As usual, the Left finds itself on the wrong side of history. While it's far too early to predict the final results, recent events in Lebanon, Egypt, Syria and even in the ongoing struggle between the "palistinians" and the Israelis prove that there is a new movement in the air, it's fragile and needs to be nurtured, but if it is, it just yet may grow to Hurricane force, as far as the tyrants in the region are concerned. They can not withstand a popular movement of the people who yearn for self determination, if those people are willing to take the risks and pay the price that freedom demands.

One down, how many millions to go?

For the first time, I have read a Muslim who has the picture of what is happening in the Islamic world correctly and isn't afraid to state it publicly.

Look for the Fatwah to be issued against Mr. Nawash shortly.

We have an AUTHOR in da Haouse!!

Well, Mamamontezz has been diligently working on her first real effort in penning a "real" book, and she has finally completed it and offered it to the literary world.

Of course, I'm biased, but I really think you might want to get your very own copy and put it in your library so that when she becomes semi-famous, YOU'LL be able to say: "I have an original first edition Mamamontezz"!

Be the first one on your block to order your very own copy for a measly $12.00! I know her personally, so if you want it autographed, send it to me for a personalized message. It remains to be seen just how big her head will get....but at least she'll have a good reason for it.

Steyn hits another one

Mark Steyn hits another one out of the ballpark. Europe is a lost cause, despite the fact that there are indications that the Dutch, at least, are waking up to the danger they are facing.

I fear that the inertia of the Continent as a whole will preclude an easy reversal of that danger however. The United States has come to Europe's rescue twice in the last hundred years, and we have continued to assure Europes liberty for the last sixty years, leading them into a sense of complacency; this time, it should be up to the Europeans to extricate themselves. They have to come to the realization that freedom ISN'T free, and not depend on outside forces to pay the costs.

It's Bush's Fault!!!

Yes, another domino seems to have fallen in the Arab world, and it's ALL BUSH'S FAULT!

To which I say; Bravo, Mr. President!

The Left keeps asking "was it worth the American lives lost to free Iraq?" without acknowledging that Iraq was merely a part of a larger stradegy in the Middle East, one which seems to starting to bear fruit.

The final results are by no means certain, indeed, they will not be known for at least another generation, but if they continue as they are, I believe that, Yes Virginia, those men and women sacrificed to the final measure in a worthy cause.

We must stay the course and continue to fight the good fight so that the gains garnered by those sacrifices will not be thrown away.

"useful Idiots"

I told a commenter in an earlier thread that Joseph Stalin had a term for those that didn't have a loyalty to their society as a whole, and the term was "useful idiots". Well, it seems that even former Presidents and First Ladies can fall into that category.
I don't believe that the Carters were aware of any wrongdoing involved with their charitable orginization, much less had an active hand in promulgating that wrongdoing, but the fact remains that they didn't keep a close enough eye on what was happening through the ageis of their good works.

In dealing with people such as Saddam Hussein, it behooves the people dealing with him to expend extra vigilence in those dealings to ensure that they truly do meet the expectations put upon them, and not used as a cover for the graft and perfidity that Saddam dealt in as a matter of course. It seems that the Carters fell into the "the UN sanctions it, so it MUST be on the up and up" trap. It also serves as yet another example of the corruption filled cesspool that the UN has become.

That the specific donations were legal and (hopefully) put to good use doesn't negate the broader taint of corruption and influence peddleing that they helped to engender. "useful idiots" indeed!

Fiber Optic Fence?

It seems that new technology in the fiber optics field may prove to be the solution to securing large areas of our southern border. Should the testing of the system prove it to be as efficacious as it is believed it will be, I hope that it will be deployed in the shortest time possible. It's far past time that we get serious about the integrity of our borders.

Privatization Myths

FINALLY! some economists put the "myth" stamp on the so called "transition costs" of following President Bush's proposal to partialyy privatize Social Security. The Democrats main argument is that the scheme would require up to two trillion dollars in additional "transition costs". And the general public, being uninformed on just how Social Security operates and ignorant of macroeconomics in any case, are being scared to death by these claims.

As Edward Prescott, 2004 winner of the Bank of Sweden Nobel Prize in Economics, and Lawrence Hunter, senior research fellow with the Institute for Policy Innovation, show, there ARE no transition costs, merely a shifting of debt from one form to another. Those costs are ALLREADY BEING INCURRED under the present system.

The politicians in our government have long been conducting a hoax on the American people, and apparently, the present state of education in the country today has failed to give the people the ability to see through that hoax.

IF I was a conspiracy theorist, which I am NOT, I would only conclude that NEA policies were a plot to ensure the docility of the masses though indoctrination rather than forwarding education....still if you look at the decline in real education of the last 20 or 30 years, it does lead one to wonder if the conspiracy nuts don't have something, after all?

Hillery Speaks Sense, for once

I may have serious feelings of animosity towards Senator Clinton, but when she has it correct, I must ackowledge it. Even if it's a ploy to try to move herself into a "centerists" position for a presumed Presidential bid in 2008.

She has gone public in stating that we should NOT set a firm deadline on withdrawing from Iraq. I believe that to be good policy, both in our, and the Iraqi people's best interests.

Kudos to her stance in this one instance, too bad she has shown herself to be a closet Socialist, or I might have to start considering her as a candidate worthy of voting for.....NAH, that will NEVER happen!

Want to be a Blogger?

Ever wanted to become a blogger, but just don't know how to go about it?
Have a blog, but don't have a banner that just "fits" the tenor of your blog?

Well Mamamontezz Loves to add to her blog family and banners are her hobby.
Your new blog will be constructed over at Blog-City.com, so it won't cost you anything to try out the blogging scene.

She won't charge you for a banner, although Love Offerings to her Paypal would be most appreciated, let your conscience be your guide to that. She does it out of the desire to contribute to the medium that has provided her so much joy, but it does take time, and thats enough said about that.

Just send me an e-mail with your request and/or banner ideas, and I'll get them to Mama ASAP. She'll tweak it until you're satisfied with the results.

Another little quiz

Take the quiz: "WHAT RELIGION BESTS SUITS YOU?"

Category Unknown
You don't fit into any of the above categories, so perhaps before you get angry or confused, check what other religion(s) you scored the highest on. For example, you might be a Christian-Pagan, or a Discordian-Wiccan. Just use a bit of logic. However, according to this test, you're simply 100% YOU. You don't fit into any of the world's boxes.

Maccabee posed the folowing question but typically, then didn't put up a valid E-mail address so that I could respond to him.

I notice you posted on Words on a Page that we are in Iraq because they attacked us.

Uh....when did Iraq ever attack us?

Just curious about what you are talking about

Life on Mars?

Seems some NASA scientists are convinced that there is a high probablity of microbial life existing on present day Mars.
If confirmed, this will be one of the greatest discoveries ever made.

I just wish they would take civilian volunteers to make the trip there in person to do the research. I don't have any scientific qualifications, but on the other hand, if a "regular joe" can be convinced, maybe he could blog the news to the world in a manner that everyone can understand? And I would gladly do windows to be included in the first group.....
