Progressive Heroes

I was reading Odysseus, when I came upon this post concerning the Left's adoration for Che and other murdurers. So, naturally, I stole borrowed the accompanying poster:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The poster pretty much says it all. I'm tempted to apply the Rottweiler Crotch Kick™ to the next "useful idiotarian" I see wearing a Che or Mao T-shirt..I know, it's not very tolerant of me, but the more I think about it, the angrier I get...I think I would have added Stalin and Mao to the poster, but hey, there's only so much space to play with, ya-know?

Innocent Man to Die?

This case is one reason that the death penalty is , jusifiably, controversial.

If the facts are as presented in the story, this is a miscarriage of justice on an unbelievable scale.

If the events transpired as presented, Cory Maye was correct in taking the actions he did, I would have done exactly the same thing. I think that the OIC of the raid should have been the one facing charges, not Mr. Maye.

Mr. Maye acted within his rights of self defense as a citizen. I believe that racism and cronyism played a part in this conviction...Maye is black and the officer he shot was white, and the son of the police chief of the town where the incident occurred; the jury was all white. I'm not one that has much patience with the "race card" in most instances, but I feel in my bones that race was a deciding factor in this case.

The OIC of the raid is guilty of neglegence leading to a death at the very least.
As a former LEO with over twelve years on the street, I believe that I am qualified in making this opinion. The officers conducting the raid were not properly tacticly informed of the situation of the site prior to the raid, and allowing a non-team member to accompany them, even if he was a LEO, is against every procedure I've ever been taught. Another thing that really bothered me was that Officer Jones entered the premises as part of a drug raid and WASN'T ARMED. This is a breakdown of procedure that is totally inexcusable. It was a situation where the police were almost asking for one of their own to get injured.

Officer Jones is a victom of what we used to call "tombstone courage"; using improper procedure and overreaching his capablities in a deadly situation. The OIC should have insured that this could not have happened as it did. As it stands, Mr. Maye is going to pay the price for that series of misjudgements.

What I really want to know is, WHERE are all the Hollyweird celebs? They sure seem capable in coming out in droves in defense of a TRUE criminal, but they seem to have a total silence in this case, where it is OBVIOUS that a miscarriage of justice is occurring. Maybe because Mr. Maye hasn't the celebrety cachet of a true gangster, as in Mr. Williams case.

After all, Mr. Maye was just exersizing his 2nd Amendment rights in the defense of his 18mo old daughter, and we all know how the folks in Tinsletown regard that "outmoded" concept.

Thats probably why the ACLU hasn't gotten involved either...don't want to encourage those gun nuts ya know....SELF DEFENSE?!? Don't want the plebian masses to know that they can do that!

Christian = Hypocrite?

One of my vigilent corrosponders sent me this link as "proof that the rank and file Democrats are in full approval of the antics of their leaders."

Seems the members of the Washington State Democrats were selling an offensive anti-Christian symbol on their official website. They have since pulled that particular product from the page, as apparently they had a large backlash against it. The irony here is that they didn't even consider that there would be a backlash against it. For a party that extolls the virtues of "diversity" and "tolerance", they sure do make a habit of displaying the exact opposite in regards to the Christian faith.

As i've stated before, I do not consider myself to be a Christian, altough I do have a Catholic background, with a heavy dose of Protestanism thrown in for good measure. I consider myself a Deist/Agnostic. But even though it didn't affect me, I could see the offensive nature of what they were trying to sell:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com I don't know about you, but when I look at that, all I see is a blanket statement of intolerance and disdain towards Christians...I don't consider myself ultrasensative towards insults directed at me, but even I, as a deist found this beyond the pale, I can imagine what a devout Christian would feel.

I fear for our Republic; we have lost sight of one of the basic founding principles of that Republic: that every individual is accorded respect in his beliefs in an atmosphere of tolerance, if not agreement in those beliefs.
We have never totally achieved that goal, nor do I believe we ever shall, but the important thing was that we strove for it as the ideal.

Many democrats today excoriate Christian Republicans as hypocrites, saying that they espouse high ideals in running for office and then tend to fall short of those ideals in office.
They forget the corollary of that position..if you don't have an ideal to strive to reach, you have no real base at all. Situational ethics is sometimes an evil necessity to achieve a greater good, but as a base position, it inevitably leads to tryanny.

In a related matter, Michael Medved has a great editorial on The Lion, The Witch, And the Wardrobe as it concerns the display of faith in a public setting. I think he reiterated my point above, albeit in a much better manner.

sKerry

On last Sunday's Face the Nation Kerry had this to say about the actions of American troops in Iraq: " ..... there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women ...."

Now we have the last Democratic Presidential candidate, John Kerry, applying the "T" word to our own troops in Iraq. Our men and women in uniform are "terrorizing kids and children, you know, women ...."

Tuesday, on the Neil Boortz show a caller reminded me of a time when American "troops" did, in fact, knock down a door in the middle of the night and terrorized a child.

It happened almost six years ago. Does anybody remember? A Democrat was in the White House, and the "Officer in Charge" of these particular "troops" was a female Democrat. The date was April 22, 2000. The terrorized child was Elian Gonzalez.

Seems to be yet another example of "projection"....

Democrats just don't seem to "get" that disparaging our troops ISN'T "protesting the war but supporting the troops".

When a Leading member of the Democratic party equates our troops with being terrorists, just WHAT message does he believe he is sending our enemy?

In my mind the only message he is sending me is that he is a partisan hack that is willing to utter treasonous remarks in the furthurence of his own agenda...and that agenda seems to consist mainly of "Hate George Bush".
That the Left hails these remarks as "brave" and "patriotic dissent" only proves that they are in full accord with that agenda. Indeed, when the Chairman of the party, Howard Dean says:

"the idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong."

Just what else is there to say? As many missteps as the Bush administration has made, the Democrats seem eager to show themselves as even worse.

I'm still waiting for any concrete proposals from the Left, but so far, all I've seen is that "we need to run away (in Iraq), and it's all Bush's fault".

A LOYAL opposition has concrete proposals to put forth, and is willing to negotiate a compremise, I'm still waiting for the Democrats to do that.

The few that HAVE attempted to do so have been turned upon by their own...Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman to cite two examples.
As much as I dislike some Republican policies, the Democrats are forcing me to support them by their lack of a reasonable alternative being put forward.

OUTRAGEOUS!!

I'm sure, by now, you've all read about the soldier recovering from wounds at Walter Reed receiving only one "holiday" card...from a piece of "Progressive" slime posing as a human being that wished him a quick death.

I can't imagine the pain that such a missive caused Spc. Sparling. Emperor Misha addressed the slime that committed the deed, to which I can only add a hearty "AMEN !"

I think we all need to show this soldier how MOST of us really feel, to counteract the despicable actions of one of the retarded fringe moonbat minority.

Please send your feelings of support and best wishes to:

Joshua Sparling
Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20307-5001

Please, Don't let the actions of one "rider of the short bus of life" color this man's holiday season unanswered!

While running through the web, I found this movie that I think really expresses at least the wayI feel. It's a large file, but well worth the download.

Putin & Gore Yeah, THEY want the best for the U.S.!

Ah, how the past can come back to bite us in the ass! The Progressives are still angry on how they perceive that President Bush "stole" the 2000 election from ALgore...yet the more we find coming out from under the cover of secrecy, we can see how the Clinton-Gore years have formed the present situation.

Right now, we are haveing an increase in tensions in the M.E. over and above the war in Iraq, namely, the perseption that Iran is, by some accounts, a mere 6 months or so away from becoming a nuclear power. Given the recent strident rhetoric against Israel by Iran's newly elected President; the aquisition of a nuclear capability by Iran is certainly unacceptable by anyone NOT wishing to see that part of the world become a green glass bowl, glowing for the next thousand years or so..

Now it's coming out that Putin is selling the Irani's a ground to air missile defense system to protect their nuclear facilities, making their completing their nuclears weapons program much less vunerable to interdiction before they achieve success; at least withoiut triggering a war that makes the excursions into Afghanistan and Iraq seem like a stroll in the park.

And guess who Putin uses as a justification for the legality os such arms sales to a state such as Iran? Why, none other than Al Gore, that paragon of Progressive hopes.

Seems that in 1995, VP Gore negotiated a secret pact with the Soviet govt., wherein :"Gore assured Russia that, under the provisions of the agreement, the U.S. would not sanction the Kremlin for Russian arm sales to Iran – through 1999." This, from the sponsor of the
Iran-Iraq Non-proliferation Act (by then Sen. Gore), that required the imposition of sanctions against countries that made destabilizing arms sales to either Iran or Iraq. Can you say "product of situational ethics?"

If this is not proof that the Progresive agenda doesn't pose a danger to the security of the United States, as it is conducted behind the scenes, out of the public eye, then I don't know what is.

WMD's

Yep...Saddam didn't have WMD's, or ties to Al Qaida, or terrorism of any sort....
Of course documents found in Iraqi Security Ministries seem to have a lot of documentation on procedures on how to hide WMD's from UN inspectors, going so far as to have an investigation on how those same inpectors found some documents on those procedures....and records of meetings with Al Qaida members, and money transfers to Afghanistan...

Nope all these documents are fakes made by Saddam and members of his regime to bolster Pres. Bush's reasons to waging war on Iraq. After all , according to the Left, Saddam was just a man trying the best he could to hold a fractious people together, deep down he really is a gentle person who wants nothing more than to hug his bunny rabbit, he was forced to commit brutal acts by a dissident majority in the country he was thrust into a position of leadership of.(/ sarcasm)

I hope the Administration releases translations of these documents soon...and that the Democrats continue in their attempt to rewrite history in the meantime...the louder they cry about obfuscation and lies, the more foolish they will be seen to be when the documentation is made public.

I truely believe that it just may become necessary to have a really deep heart to heart with some folks in Syria and see if they just won't release some goodies that they may have found just making their own docile way across the border...you know how hard it is to keep WMD's from straying, after all the shifting around in the shell game keeping them hidden from the UN Inpections teams; they just have developed minds of their own and don't seem to respect borders at all.(/furthur arcasm)

Lting liars and the Lies they tell

Matthew Heidt of Froggy Ruminations has the ultimate smackdown of those that continue to try to impugn the President as a liar and willfully misleading the American public into an unjust war.

As in so many cases it seems that the pot likes to call the kettle black because of projection of what the pot engages in.

"RoP" Exemplified

Yet ANOTHER example of the actions of members of the "Religion of Peace".

WHEN will we in the West realize that Islam is inimicle to our ideas of freedom and self-determination? Maybe the French will start to wake up, now that some 3,500 Citreons and Renaults have been burned and the residents in some 9 suburbs have demanded that they be allowed to be governed by Shar'ia Law insted of French common law... Will it take the same type of sad events to wake up the people in the US?

LSM at it Again

Pretty soon, THIS may become a new "major incident of atrocity" on the part of American troops, at least in the LSM. It's another example of "unbiased" reporting linking various semi-connected facts in an unpalatable to American sensibilitites manner; a in an intended attempt to cause public opinion to be swayed against the course of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If you want to know the REAL chain of events, go read Jason Coleman's excellant explanation of what really occurred.

An unfettered press is a necessity in a free society, but with that freedom comes the responsibility to "stick to the facts" and not use that power in furthuring a personal or corporate agenda. And it's a citizens responsibility to hold the press to just reporting the news and not manipulating it, unfortunately, all too often, the citizens have become unquestioning and uncritical sponges of what they read and see. Remember folks, just because you read it in the paper, or hear it from some talking head on TV, don't take it as the gosple truth, look behind the story and see what the facts and circumstances are and form your own opinion, and don't let the spinners catch you in their web of half truths, and sometimes, outright deceit.

Indonesia and Terrorism

In a prior post, I asked the question, just WHY did terrorists beset Indonesia.
The Left would have you believe that it's just another attack on the policies of the West.

Christopher Hitchens and Mark Steyn have another answer. One I feel is far closer to the truth.

In a nutshell, Islamofacism cares about nothing but trying to impose a new Caliphate on the entire world, with their brand of fundementalism as it's leaders.
In their view, anyone not of their belief is just fodder to be burned on the pyre of their beliefs; Hindu, Buddist, Christian, Jew, or Muslim, it matters not, if you don't toe the line of THEIR brand of Islam, your a fair target for slaughter.

You can't negotiate with these kind of people, you can't just ignore them, you have to root them out and utterly destroy them. There IS no other option.
To do otherwise is to commit a slow social suicide.

No Fat?!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Tom DeLay made the statement that "there was no fat in the Federal budget"...

Well folks, $500,000 of YOUR tax money was spent to paint that fish on the Air Alaska plane pictured above.

This money came from a $20 million grant of taxpayer's money to a marketing board in Alaska to promote Alaskan fish. The money was requested by Alaska's Republican Senator Ted Stephens. You might be interested in knowing that Ted Stephen's son is the chairman of the board of the marketing board that got the money and spent it on this fish painting.

And the Stupid Party is wondering why even those naturally belonging to their base are getting disgusted?

Folks, I know I sound like a broken record on this subject, but it's time for us to take back control of our government. Call your Congresscritters and Senators NOW and let them know that they need to enact the Fair Tax ASAP, or they won't BE the Congresscritters or Senators from your state after the next election. Your children and grandchildren will thank you for it.

"RoP" My Ass!

Still think it has nothing to do with Islam ?

Go to The religion of peace and read the list by location/date/# of victims/ methods used/ by some of the adherants of the "Religion of Peace" from 9/12/01 to the present.

Of the over 3,000 incidents, C.A.I.R. has acknowledged and "condemned" 18 of them. And they are supposedly the "moderate' spokesmen for Islam in America.

Poor, poor grieving Cindy Sheehan

See Cindy

Cindy is grieving

Poor grieving Cindy

Cindy lost her son

Cindy lost her son to "insurgents"

Cindy says "Insurgents are "Freedom Fighters"

Poor grieving Cindy, her son was a "military oppressor"

"Freedom Fighters" like Cindy

They like Cindy for helping them

I bet they feel bad that they killed her son

"I'm ready for my closeup, Mr. Moore"

And here is a letter from one of her neighbors asking her what the HELL is she thinking?

Poor, poor Cindy, so misunderstood, can't you see she's grieving?

LM-Bias Redux

Liberal bias in the media? What Liberal bias?.

Obviously the writer of this article is simply unable to grasp the importance of nuance /sarcasm.

Many on the left fail to see just what all the fuss is about in these kinds of stories, but the fact is that words DO have meaning, and the WAY you present the facts can alter the meaning of those facts in the mind of the viewer/reader.

Thats what the term "Nuance" is all about. That the Left can complain of the Rights lack of "grasp of nuance", and then deny it's emplyment in stories slanted in their POV within the same breath is simply astounding to me.

Clinton, and the loss of Presidental Propriety

Powerline has a great post showing President Clinton to be a partisian hack devoid of common civility, tearing apart his latest public attack on the present Administration.

There's nothing wrong with standing up for an idiology you believe in, but of late, it seems the only idiology of the Left is that President Bush is evil incarnate, and when you have the record of inattention to terrorism (World Trade Center bombing in 1993, the attacks on American embassies in Africa in 1998, the USS Cole bombing in 2000 to cite just three examples) that President Clinton portrayed in his term of office, it's particularly disingenious.

In their partisian fervor, it seems that the DNC and it's leading members have forgotten that we are all Americans first, and members of a political party second. The Left has excoriated President Bush as a divisive leader, but any openminded person with two functioning brain cells left can readily discern that, in fact, it's the members of the far Left that have created that division on strictly partisian grounds; unfortunately, it's the radicals that seem to have the loudest voice and the firmest hand on the controls in the DNC at the moment.

They are so sure of their control that they don't even bother to TRY to ensure that their statements are in fact the truth. Don't think so? In Clinton's Bush bashing he said:

"(the)Bush administration had decided to invade Iraq "virtually alone and before UN inspections were completed, with no real urgency, no evidence that there were weapons of mass destruction." (that "alone" must come as a real slap in the face to the 40+ nations that have risked their personnel in Iraq!)

Yet in a presentation of a foreign policy paper made before Democrats on July 23, 2003, President Clinton stated:

"It is incontestable that on the day I left office, there were unaccounted for stocks of biological and chemical weapons."

So either Clinton lied then, or is lying now, either way, he's proven himself a liar with his own words.

That he is breaking the long held tradition of past Presidents not commenting publicly on a current President's policies only proves that he has no concept of the delicate balance of civility that has to be maintained for our system to work.
Instead, he stokes the partisan fires to an ever greater blaze; and to do it at a time when we have men in harms way furthur compounds the damage he is doing in furthurance of partisianship.

TACKY

The Wall Street Week in Review show has a feature they term the "Tony" and "Tacky" of the week wherin the telejournalists put up their pick of what was best and worst in the past week. I thought I might try my hand at this, and my first effort is one huge TACKY on the part of the German SPD Party.

I found this via Davids Medienkritik:"We didn't think German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder's SPD (or any other major Germany political party) would fall this low during the election campaign. We have learned that one of Gerhard Schroeder's senior ministers and a top SPD man in eastern Germany, Rolf Schwanitz, is using the following poster in an attempt to win votes":

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
SPD Campaign Poster, caption reads: "She (Merkel) Would Have Sent Soldiers"

As David says:"This is truly sick. How could anyone exploit the images of fallen American soldiers in flag-draped coffins for political gain. Haven't those soldiers earned the right not to be exploited by some European politician?"

I have to say that while I'm repulsed by this, I have to admit that our own Left has sunk to almost the same low state, when you consider the credence they give to such as "Mother" Sheehan; if we allow our own to get away unopposed, can we really be surprised when a foreign polititian thinks it is fair game? Yes, I know that the storm against "Mother" is pretty intense in the blogosphere, but how much of that opposition is ever demonstrated in the MSM?

This is part and parcel of what the Left just "doesn't get" when we on the center right contend that you can't "support the troops" and loudly bash Bush on the war at the same time without providing aid and comfort to the enemy, inevitably, that (at least perceived) aid is evident even to those that are nominally our allies. Too bad it never comes to recognition by those that foment it.

Crook Returns

Michael Crook, that UBER-Scum of the earth, is back at it.

His new site is called Oppose the Troops, and it's even more virulent than his old site.

"Mr". Crook's contention is that the Military as a whole, and at the individual level, consists of nothing but leeches living high off the hog on our tax dollars. He furthur contends that the concept of an organized Military structure in itself is untenable in a free society and that we would be better served by an "everyman for himself" structure of defense.

Seems that Mr. Crook is unaware of history, or just what the average person gives up in joining the Military in terms of earning potential. He decries that Service personnell are given housing, medical treatment, and salaries, and WORST of all, they receive a pension after having served their country for a minimum of 20 years! All on the "Public's dime". THE HORROR!

He attempts to show that money is the prime motivator in inducing young men and woman into military service...after all, they receive a base salary of $22,525.20 a year, after having reached the rank of E-5, with more than two years on the job. Sounds like a great deal of money doesn't it? He doesn't take into cinsideration that it would take the average soldier almost 9 years to attain that rank, and that a civilian position that encompasses anywhere near the same amount of responsibility would pay at least twice that amount. YES there are the factors that housing and food are included "free" (assuming a single person living in base housing), but consider this, that "free housing" consists for a large part of sharing one large room with four to six other men, or at BEST one small room with one other man, and the food consists of a school cafeteria style service, where your choices are limited to what is being served for that meal. AND you are not allowed to leave a prescribed area without permission and instant contact means with your superiors.

How many civilians work, or WOULD work, under such restrictions? Not to mention that even your personal life is bound by rules and regulations that no civilian company could impose on their workforce.....how would YOU like to be faced with possible loss in pay, loss of rank, and even incarceration because YOU happened to stay out on the lounger in the backyard too long and had received a bad sunburn? Outrageous? It CAN happen in the Military, and I speak from personal experience.

When you sign on that dotted line, not even your own body ,strictly speaking, belongs to you. Where do you make that type of sacrifice in the civilian world? The closest thing would be the "physical ability to preform" clauses in a pro-athlete's contract....care to compare their pay rates to the military's?

If you factor in the amount of experience/education that a soldier requires to effectively do his job in the new high-tech Service; and the amount of responsibility that that soldier is expected to assume, the pay is not even a half fraction of what he could obtain under the same circumstances in the civilian world.

I think we should respond as we did on the last occasion of this perverted moron's last surfacing in the public forum; loud derision and pointing out to his service providers that his rhetoric exceeds the bounds of legitimate public discourse and falls into the area of hate-mongoring and sedition.

A New School Prayer...

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule.
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense, it's the freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise,
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the State.

We're allowed to cuss & dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues & cheeks.
They've outlawed guns; but FIRST the Bible
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the unwed daddy, our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms, & birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires & totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No Word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot, My soul please take.
